Greetings From The School Guidance Department


Who are we?

Ms. Kesha Atterberry
Mrs. Chinyere Emma-Iwuoha(aka Mrs. Emmanuel)
Mr. Ureal Gayle (aka "Mr. G")

Ms. Atterberry handles most of the guidance concerns for grades K-2, Mrs. Emmanuel handles most of the guidance concerns for grades 3-5, and Mr. G handles most guidance concerns for grades 6-8

The counselors work with the Pre-K students and either of us is happy to help any student or to respond to concerns from any parent.

What do we do?

  • Work together with families, teachers and administration to support the school community.
  • Provide counseling services to our students in areas of academic, career, social/personal development.
  • Help students to learn the foundation for success in the future, with emphasis on Knowledge, Attitudes and Skills.
  • Respond to problems or concerns as they arise.
  • Offer referrals for prevention and intervention services and activities.
  • Continue to monitor the social/personal development of students’ ACTIVE participation in REMOTE LEARNING.
  • Provide support for students in development of self-confidence, coping skills, ability to manage transition/change, social maturity(self-management).
  • Work with families to create applications to middle and high schools.
