Crystal Lamar, Parent Coordinator
**Welcome to Our HAWK'S School Community!**
Hello PS/MS 7 Families,
My name is Ms. Crystal LaMar and I am the Parent Coordinator here at PS/MS 7. I am excited to be your point of contact and support for all things related to our school community. My role is to bridge the gap between parents, teachers, and school administration, ensuring a smooth and enriching experience for our students and their families. Here’s how I can assist you:
- **Information Sharing**:
I provide updates on school events, programs, and policies, keeping you informed about what’s happening at our school.
- **Parent Engagement**: I organize and facilitate meetings, workshops, and volunteer opportunities to foster a strong and active parent community.
- **Support and Resources**: I am here to answer your questions, address concerns, and connect you with resources that can help enhance your child’s educational experience.
- **Communication**: I work to ensure that your feedback and suggestions are heard and considered in school planning and decision-making.
**NYCSA Setup**-
- Navigating the System: help parents understand how to create and manage their NYCSA accounts.
- Information Sharing: They provide parents with information on how to access various resources and services available through NYCSA, such as checking grades, attendance records, and other important student information.
- Workshops and Training: I will organize workshops or one-on-one sessions to educate parents about how to effectively use NYCSA. This could include demonstrations of the platform’s features and how to use them to stay engaged with your child’s education.
- Problem-Solving: Assist parents in resolving any issues or discrepancies they might encounter in their NYCSA accounts, such as issues with student data, account access problems, or discrepancies in information.
By performing these roles, parent coordinators ensure that parents can effectively use NYCSA to support their children's educational experience and stay informed about their academic progress. Please don’t hesitate to reach out to me with any questions or concerns. I look forward to working with you and making our school a great place for every student.
As we say here at PS/MS 7 " WE RISE TOGETHER "
Warm regards,
Ms. Crystal

NYC Kids RISE | How Do I Get Started? |
Note for families:
All first, second, and third grade families in the Save for College Program can activate their children’s NYC Scholarship Accounts!
Families of kindergartners, and other eligible students who are new to the Program this school year, will be able to activate their children’s accounts in January 2025.
The NYC Kids RISE Save for College Program provides families, schools, and communities with a way to work together to invest in and save for their children’s futures. It is a scholarship and savings program designed to make college and career training more accessible and achievable for public school students. It enables all of us to work together to build assets and support expectations of educational and economic success for every child.
